Cylinders used to test coupling safety

JB ATTACHMENTS of New Zealand is using Enerpac hydraulic cylinders to conduct safety tests on its quick coupling technology.

The RSM 500 Low Height cylinders were used to batch test the strength and reliability of the coupler castings.

The cylinders operate at pressures of 700 bar, can generate 45T of force and have a 10mm stroke. The couplings were tested to comply with the international AS1418 standard.

The units were supplied by Jonel Hydraulics and were mounted in a custom-fabricated test rig. The manufacturer says the Low Height range is designed to generate large forces in confined spaces.
