Booklet discusses pneumatic energy savings

BOSCH Rexroth has released a 12-page brochure outlining the benefits of making pneumatic systems more efficient.

The brochure, titled ‘Energy Efficiency in Pneumatics,’ outlines how operators can reduce energy consumption and expenses.

The company says on average, energy costs comprise over half the total cost of operating a pneumatic system today.

The booklet describes three areas of system design which should be considered in order to reduce compressed air consumption. These include dimensioning, hose lengths and pressure regulation.

According to the manufacturer, operators can make savings of up to 15% by selecting a correctly sized unit for an application, up to 25% by using pressure regulation controllers and up to 35% by decentralising a system with valves and cylinders instead of long hoses.
