EXAIR has released a range of compressed air-powered vacuum generators for pick-and-place, clamping, lifting, chucking and surface mounting applications.
The E-Vac vacuum pumps are available in a variety of sizes and flows and can be fitted with a wide selection of vacuum cups.
The company says the unit was engineered to minimise air consumption and increase cycle speeds. Its in-line, single stage design provides a consistent vacuum without the fluctuations commonly experienced with mechanical vacuums.
According to the manufacturer, the device has no moving parts and therefore is maintenance free and does not wear out. It can also be mounted close to the work surface for fast attach and release times.
The range is available in two styles. The low vacuum units, which generate up to 71kPa, have a higher airflow which allows them to handle porous materials like cardboard. The high vacuum units, with up to 91kPa, are designed for non-porous materials like glass, sheet steel and plastic.
